(LOT 61)
"Unique for the Grade" 1963 Kahn's Wieners Oscar Robertson (PSA NM/MT+ 8.5) – "1 of 1" & The SOLE/HIGHEST GRADED Example!

From 1957 – 1965, the Kahn's Cincinnati based meat company released a small set of Kahn's Wieners basketball cards, placing a single Cincinnati Royal subject in packs of Kahn's Wieners hot dogs. For purposes of promoting their brand, the regional meat manufacturer also included a subject for the Laker's Jerry West, banking on his iconic popularity to ably assist in the sales of their popular wieners. Considered extremely condition sensitive, many of the existing cards exhibit stains and indentations from being placed against the frozen hot dogs, with few surviving examples reflecting high grades. Along with Jerry West, the most popular subject is the incomparable Oscar Robertson, and presented here is "Big O's" 1963 Kahn's Wieners card in an unfathomable PSA NM/MT+ 8.5 holder.

A "fresh to the hobby" gem that was recently encapsulated by PSA, of the 14 encapsulated copies, it resides as the SOLE example at this pinnacle plateau and the highest graded specimen on the planet! Indeed, the 1961 Kahn's Robertson issue stands as an extremely obscure regional issue, and synonymous with Robertson's incredible legacy, this supreme offering steadfastly stands alone as the finest of its kind. The list of superlatives for the legendary Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson is synonymous to an infinite-like novel. Along with Russell, Jordan, Chamberlain, Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Bryant and Lebron James, he stands tall as one of the greatest players in NBA history.

His lifetime statistics alone solidify his irrefutable iconic standing with the "Big O" averaging an unfathomable 25.7 points, 9.5 assists and 7.5 rebounds per game! For 14 seasons with the Cincinnati Royals and Milwaukee Bucks he dominated the hardwood floor virtually better than any of his peers, dubbed the "king of the triple double" whereby he resides as the only basketball player to ever miraculously average a "triple double" for an entire season (1961 Campaign – 30.8 points; 11.4 assists; 12.5 rebounds)! Recently found in a "raw" card collection, this PSA NM/MT+ 8.5 masterpiece depicts the awe-inspiring aesthetics of any "pack-fresh" card.

The crystal clear black & white Oscar Robertson image is virtually flawless as "Big O" appears to be dribbling his way into basketball immortality. Exhibiting near-perfect centering between four snow white borders, this marvel includes four absolutely pin-point corners, brilliant surfaces and "The Wiener the World Awaited" Kahn's slogan along the, lower border. Fresh to the hobby, its supreme technical assessment places it as the undisputed "finest of its kind" 1963 Kahn's Wieners "Big O" subject, and a card that will undoubtedly find a new home in one of the hobby's world-class basketball compilations!
