Therefore, it comes as little surprise that when baseball's all-time team is assembled by the foremost historians, Hornsby is typically placed as the premier 2nd baseman, with all due respect to Nap Lajoie and Eddie Collins. Somewhat underrated in the hobby, only now does it appear that collectors are "waking up" to this incredible player who just may reside as the greatest right-handed hitter ever.
