(LOT 105)
T206 John McGraw "Finger in Air" – Sweet Caporal 150 Subjects/Factory 25 (PSA NM/MT 8) - "1 of 3" Sweet Caps; NO Sweet Caps Graded Higher"!

It is not surprising that when the American Tobacco Company carefully choose a number of players to include different poses on four different T206 cards, iconic New York Giants manager John McGraw was one such subject. McGraw was a standout 3rd baseman for the 19th century Baltimore club for which he batted over .300 nine consecutive seasons. However, regardless of his playing excellence, McGraw's immortal stature is predominately due to his 29-year stint as the New York Giants manager. He won 8 pennants and 3 World Championships, and his managerial legacy will outlast eternity.

McGraw was possessed with winning and it is apropos that his breathtaking T206 "Finger in Air" PSA 8 Sweet Caporal offering includes his legendary illustration. This outstanding masterpiece is one of only 3 McGraw Sweet Caporals with NO Sweet Caps besting this elusive marvel. The spellbinding aesthetics easily merit the near mint assessment via a rich aqua-marine green and blue background, a pristine-like McGraw image, four super bright white borders, near-perfect 50/50 centering and strong perimeter edging. No glaring surface flaws are evident on either side, the final superlative for one of the most remarkable T206 John McGraw subjects in the hobby!
