(LOT 84)
T206 Jimmy Collins "Minneapolis "Piedmont 350 Subjects/Factory 25" (PSA NM/MT 8)

A fine batsman and fielder, until Pie Traynor's arrival, Hall of Famer Jimmy Collins was generally considered baseball's greatest 3rd baseman. Collins batted over .300 five times and as player/manager of the Red Sox for their first six 20th century seasons, he led them to two pennants and a World Championship when Boston bested Pittsburgh in the inaugural 1903 World Series. Unfortunately, there are not an abundance of cardboard artifacts carrying this Cooperstown inductees image, with his T206 Carl Horner portrait image one of his final cardboard heirlooms. Presented here just happens to be one his most astounding T206 examples, an extremely high-grade PSA 8 Piedmont offering that resides with a handful of examples as the highest graded copy.

Additionally, regardless of any ad back, NO Jimmy Collins T206 specimen has managed to achieve a finer grade than this miraculous PSA 8 masterpiece! The impeccable representation of the popular Red Sox star is a perfect testament to his legacy, providing many of the pristine attributes typically associated with perfection. The Carl Horner portrait pose depicts superior contrast and fine facial and gray uniform hues are set against a robust crimson red background. Bright white borders and right-angled corners complete this time defying marvel that along with several other specimens resides as the "best of the rest"!
