(LOT 709)
Extremely Scarce c.1920's Babe Ruth A.J. Reach, Wright & Ditson Die Cut Glove Tag – One of the Most Spectacular Glove Tags Extant!

Throughout the 1920's, the A.J. Reach, Wright & Ditson manufacturer issued various types of Babe Ruth model gloves that are highly sought-after in the hobby. Considered somewhat obscure, while locating the actual leather gloves is an achievable task, finding the associated glove tags is a near-impossible achievement. With that in mind, presented here is an absolutely spectacular c.1920's Babe Ruth glove tag distributed by the renowned A.J. Reach, Wright & Ditson Company. Measuring approximately 4.25" x 3.4", it has somehow managed to retain "EX+" aesthetics, with the imposing black & white "Ruthian" like portrait pose encompassed by a relatively clean orange border.

The perimeter edging shows no serious wear, with only some peripheral scratches situated near along the upper border. Interestingly enough, the manufacturer explains in detail how along with Babe Ruth himself, they are committed to ably assisting in the development of new ballplayers, and that Reach mitts or gloves will not only assist skillful young boys but are priced well below big league values. A remarkable heirloom from the "Sultan of Swat's" peak playing days, its unquestionable rarity, iconic Ruth image and remarkable aesthetics all combine to place it as a "must have" for any world-class memorabilia collector!
