1911 T3 Turkey Red Eddie Collins – Ad Back PSA 2 Good
TURKEY COLLINS!!!... One of the more desirable Eddie Collins pre-war cards is his exquisite 1911 T3 Turkey Red subject that depicts an imposing batting stance of the immortal 2nd sacker; presented here in a superb PSA 2 holder. Hall of Famer Eddie Collins is arguably considered by many historians to be the greatest 2nd baseman of all-time (with all due respect to Hornsby and Lajoie). His statistical achievements have surpassed most other Hall of Famers, including a staggering .333 lifetime average accumulated via 3,311 safeties. Collins was also a complete player, widely regarded as the best fielding 2nd baseman of his era, and was a fantastic base runner, swiping 743 bases throughout a spectacular 25-year career. His central image representation on this highly coveted T3 cabinet is outstanding, exhibiting vibrant hues, and set against a brilliant green and blue background. Accounting for the grade are some stray light creases, upper corner wear and a peripheral 1/4" horizontal tear situated near the upper right border that, from an eye appeal perspective, only appears to be a heavy crease. The highly-coveted Turley Red ad back completes this timeless masterpiece that merits attention from any serious tobacco or Hall of Fame collector.
