MAYS!!!... The "Say Hey Kid" played in only 34 games in 1952 on account of his military service; yet Topps still decided to reward his faithful following by issuing a 1953 Mays subject. This highly coveted keepsake depicts one of the most popular Mays images as appears to be revealing his iconic "basket catch" fielding pose. Presented here just happens to be one of the more formidable copies of this classic Topps card, a remarkable PSA 8 specimen that has only been bested by a mere 3 examples! Ironically, Willie Mays would not play a single game in the 1953 season, missing the entire campaign due to his devout armed services duty in lieu of the Korean War.
