(LOT 51)
1910 E286 Ju Ju Drums 1.5" Diameter Honus Wagner PSA 6 EX-MT "Wagners Own Personal Copy" Highest Graded Copy by any Grading Service with no Equal

Presented here is a "turn of the century" collectible you might not see again for quite some time! This miraculous PSA 6 JU-JU Drum (E286) Honus Wagner currently resides as the finest of its kind, with the other PSA encapsulated example graded "Poor/1". Furthermore, the SGC census report's highest graded Wagner resides in an "EX/5" holder, placing this esteemed offering as the supreme example on the planet! One of the scarcest baseball cards ever distributed is the circular 1910 JU-JU Drum disks issued with packs of JU-JU Drum candy. Measuring 1.5" in diameter, a black & white player photo adorns the front side of these silver dollar sized rarities, with the reverse side providing advertisement for the "JU-JU DRUM" brand.

The extreme obscurity of these museum worthy gems leads hobbyists to believe that the current 45 player checklist still remains incomplete. The set's ultra-scarcity is justified by the fact that PSA & SGC, COMBINED, list less than 70 encapsulated copies for all the 45 known subjects. The aesthetics of this Wagner offering are nothing less than sensational, headlined by the classic Wagner batting pose seldom seen on any cardboard issue or periodical. A fine circumference perimeter, bold "WAGNER/PITTSBURGH" text on the obverse side and a clean verso complete this remarkable keepsake that was issued a year after Wagner led his Pirates to their first World Series title. It is no secret among hobbyists that the "Holy Grail" T206 Wagner has ably assisted the desirability and value of the "Flying Dutchman's" other vintage cardboard marvels.

The greatest shortstop to ever grace a diamond and an original 1936 Baseball Hall of Fame Charter Member, Wagner captured an incredible eight batting titles with legendary N.Y. Giant's manager John McGraw always insisting Honus was the most formidable player he ever saw. With that in mind, we cannot imagine a finer memento to capture than this seldom surfacing JU-JU DRUM gem that synonymous with Wagner's finest "all-time" shortstop stature, stands alone as the "best of the rest"!
