Remarkable 1933 Tattoo Chewing Gum Picture Cards Window Sign (R305) - Glue Still Intact – Unused (NM/MT Condition)!
In 1933, the Tattoo Orbit Gum Company of Chicago issued 1 cent packages of gum that included baseball cards measuring approximately 2" x 2-1/4". This 60-subject set included some of baseball's greatest stars such as Jimmy Foxx, Lefty Grove and Rogers Hornsby, just to mention a few. Similar to other sport card issues, the Orbit Gum manufacturer issued large window display signs to promote their product, with a miraculous-like R305 Tattoo Orbit advertising piece presented here in unused/NM-MT condition! Indeed, measuring approximately 8.5" x 14.1", this 84-year old keepsake has managed to retain virtually all of its original factory issued qualities including the two unused gum strips situated across the upper and lower edges.

Simply stated, this museum worth masterpiece was never affixed to the window of any "five and dime" and/or retailer store that typically advertised their baseball card inventory. Obtained in the 2010 find of a handful of Tattoo Chewing Gum display signs from the Wrigley Gum Company sample files, it stands tall as the finest preserved R305 Tattoo Orbit advertising poster. Its brilliant aesthetics are highlighted by the myriad of red and yellow tints scattered throughout the poster, with 7 baseball card examples illustrated including Lefty Grove. A baseball player "batting" caricature line drawing exists in the upper right quadrant as well as an illustration of the Tattoo Orbit wrapper (lower right quadrant).

Imposing advertising captions in bold blue and red ink are as follows: "Picture of Big League Ball Players – In Full Natural Colors – FREE; with Tattoo Chewing Gum; START A COLLECTION! – TATTOO CHEWING GUM – THE BIG PENNY PACKAGE OF GOOD GUM; FOR SALE HERE". No glaring surface blemishes are evident, the sharp perimeter includes four pinpoint corners, and the aforementioned gum strips near the upper and lower edges are unused and completely intact. An immaculate-like "best of the best" poster, it miraculously has defied "father time"; meriting a final resting place in any world-class sports card and/or advertising collection!
