(LOT 24)
Extraordinary Jimmie Foxx Single Signed Baseball – Full PSA LOA

It is no secret that Jimmie Foxx single signed baseballs are extremely scarce, let alone one that arguably stands as the finest of its kind. Such is the case for this extraordinary Spalding Official league horsehide sphere that has been authenticated by PSA and depicts one of the most remarkable Jimmie Foxx scripts extant! Mind boggling to say the least, the bold blue fountain pen "Jimmie Foxx signature and relatively clean white horsehide sphere have miraculously retained virtually all of their original attributes, with the hallowed autograph presenting itself in solid '8/9" fashion. Consistent with the imposing script are the bold black Spalding Official league stampings that have retained a majority of their original factory issued aesthetics, with the ball's horsehide surface likewise exhibiting most of its original white texture (only modest toning exists).

One of the most coveted signed balls from the pre-WWII era, it dons the script of a slugger who dominated our National Pastime from the batter's box at a level far superior to virtually all of his peers. Along with Rogers Hornsby and Hank Aaron, most baseball historians consider Foxx one of the three greatest right-handed hitters ever. His .325 lifetime batting average, 1,921 RBIs, 534 homeruns, 1933 Triple Crown and incredible 13 consecutive seasons of 100+ RBIs substantiate this notion and solidify his legacy. Only Lou Gehrig achieved such a feat, and it is with little surprise he was nicknamed "The Beast" due to his unparalleled power that once launched a home run into Yankee Stadium's left upper deck. Synonymous with that ultra-popular nickname, this astonishing single signed baseball likewise stands as a "beast" of its own, arguably claiming bragging rights as one of the grandest specimens the hobby has to offer! – FULL PSA LOA
