(LOT 462)
1934-36 Diamond Stars #54 "Hank" Greenberg 1935 SGC 92 NM-MT+ 8.5

HANK!!!... Hall of Famer Hank Greenberg may be one of the most under rated heroes ever to grace a baseball diamond. With only 9 full seasons in the Major Leagues (he lost almost a full 4 years due to WWII), Greenberg's lifetime statistics aren't record setting, but they are sure productive, including 2 MVP awards. He averaged over 35 homers and a 'staggering' 140+ RBI's in his spectacular career, and in 1938 chased Babe Ruth's legendary 60 home run mark, finishing at 58.

Along with Jimmie Foxx and Lou Gehrig, he will forever be considered one of baseball's greatest 1st baseman sluggers ever to step into the batter's box, explaining why elite enthusiasts actively seek his high end vintage baseball cards. None could possibly more popular than this 1935 Diamond Stars offering that has been remarkably preserved for 81 years and placed in a spectacular SGC 92/8.5 holder. POP 2 with a single card grading higher.
