LEGENDARY NAME!!!... The Goudey Gum Co. issued a 48 card set in 1933 named "Sport Kings" that included the top athletes in 18 different sports. When considering the greatest athletes of the 20th century, some the names that come to mind are Babe Ruth, Jessie Owens, Jim Thorpe and Ty Cobb. One of the set's most prestigious subjects, the incomparable Jim Thorpe, would still be considered one of the all-time athletic figures even if this issue was manufactured today. The iconic Thorpe not only dominated various Olympic events, but played professional baseball and football as well.

In the 1912 Olympics, Thorpe won gold medals for both the Pentathlon and Decathlon events, was a collegiate All-American football player in 1911 and 1912, and played both professional baseball and football.
