(LOT 13)
#1 PSA Registered 1907 Dietsche Chicago Cubs (PC765-2) "Black Tint" Complete 15 Postcard Set w/Last Names on the Front – All PSA Graded with a Stellar PSA 4.47 Weighted G.P.A. & 5.07 G.P.A. w/"Top Pop" Bonuses!

In conjunction with the 1907 World Series between the Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs, the city of Detroit issued BOTH Tiger and Cubs postcards to its dedicated fans, with the Chicago Cubs set reflecting 15 subjects including legendary Hall of Famers Mordecai Brown, Joe Tinker, Johnny Evers and Frank Chance. Portraying classic black & white player images set against dark backgrounds, the postcard backs reveal short career summaries and a dated copyright line. Ironically, due to the city of Detroit issuing these popular postcards, it is the Cub's subjects that are tougher to find; due to Detroit fans obviously choosing to purchase their beloved Tiger players.

Their scarcity is justified by the PSA Set registry only listing a meager 2 completed sets, with the finest of those two presented here and reflecting an impressive 4.47 weighted G.P.A. and 5.07 G.P.A. w/"Top Pop" Bonuses"! Virtually all 15 subjects portray mid-grade aesthetics with the PSA grades ranging between 3-VG and 6-EX/MT (One 6-EX/MT; Four 5-EX's; Four 4.5-VG/EX+'s; Five 4-VG/EX's; One 3-VG). More impressively, five of the subjects have "None Graded Higher" of which four of those are "Pop 1's", and seven of the subjects have only "1 Graded Higher" of which four of those are likewise "Pop 1's".

Nearly all of the cards exhibit crystal clear images, fine edging, even corner wear and no obtrusive surface flaws. A remarkable compilation, its stands as the irrefutable "PSA best of the rest", and would make an outstanding addition to any superior vintage type card or PSA Set Registry collection. For your convenience, listed below are the names of all 15 subjects in alphabetical order, their PSA grades, and respective "pop counts" and "pop higher" PSA counts:

Brown/HOF (PSA 4):"Pop 2", "3 Graded Higher"; Chance/HOF (PSA 4.5): "Pop 1", "1 Graded Higher"; Evers/HOF (PSA 5): "Pop 3", "3 Graded Higher"; Hofman (PSA 4.5): "Pop 1", "1 Graded Higher"; Kling (4.5): "Pop 1", None Graded Higher"; Lundgren (PSA 3): "Pop 2", "None Graded Higher"; Morgan (PSA 4): "Pop 1", "1 Graded Higher"; Overall (PSA 5): "Pop 2", "1 Graded Higher"; Pfeister (PSA 6): "Pop 1", "None Graded Higher"; Ruelbach (PSA 4): "Pop 1"; "None Graded Higher"; Schulte (PSA 4): "Pop 3", "2 Graded Higher"; Scheckard (PSA 5): "Pop 1", "1 Graded Higher"; Slagle (PSA 5): "Pop 2", "1 Graded Higher"; Steinfeldt (PSA 4.5): "Pop 1"; "None Graded Higher"; Tinker/HOF (PSA 4): "Pop 2", "1 Graded Higher"
