(LOT 46)
1954 Topps #250 Ted Williams PSA 9 MINT

LAST CARD IN SET!!!... Ted William's ultimate dream of being our National Pastime's greatest hitter ever became a reality with most baseball experts labeling the "Splendid Splinter" the finest batter who ever stepped into a batter's box! With that in mind, we are proud to present a Ted Williams 1954 Topps #250 card that is synonymous with his incredible batting achievements. His representation on this astonishing PSA Mint 9 specimen is one of the finest of its kind; joined by only 8 other examples at this hallowed tier with a SINGLE copy graded higher! Ultra-popular with collectors, the 1954 Topps #250 issue included two images, a larger sized color portrait pose, and a smaller black & white batting illustration.

Fortunately for William's enthusiasts, both of these images are aesthetically flawless. A blemish free radiant yellow backdrop majestically projects "Teddy Ballgame's" iconic images, and the fine centering reflects only a negligible trace of favoritism towards the right edge (approx. 55/45) between dazzling white borders. A pristine like perimeter exhibits razor sharp edging and four scintillating square corners, and the verso's vivid text is affixed to a green, red and pink hued ultra-clean surface. This remarkable 62-year old cardboard gem has miraculously defied "father time", retaining virtually all of its original factory issued print qualities to reside as one of the ten finest PSA encapsulated 2,500+ specimens; a virtual perfect testament to Ted William's unbridled legacy as baseball's greatest batsmen ever!
