(LOT 50)
1976 Topps #550 Hank Aaron (PSA Mint 9) - NONE Graded Higher!

Sadly, the 1976 would represent Henry Aaron's 23rd and final Major League season, with the iconic slugger ending his career with 755 home runs, a record 2,297 runs batted in, and 3,771 hits to the tune of a superb .305 lifetime batting average. Of course, many historians will always consider Aaron's 755-homer mark the "true" all-time record, deeming Barry Bond's 762-figure as tainted due to his alleged intake of performance enhancing drugs. Regardless, Henry Aaron's rightful place in our National Pastime's glorious history is eternally secured, and he will forever be considered one of baseball's greatest all-time players.

Fittingly enough, Topps chose a classic batting stance for his final 1976 mainstream card, with this PSA "Mint 9" gem standing alongside its other PSA 9 brethren as the finest of its kind! Indeed, not a single 1976 Topps Aaron subject has achieved the exalted "Gem Mint 10" assessment, with this hallowed offering taking its rightful place as one of the pinnacle examples on the planet. The final museum worthy masterpiece of this absolutely remarkable "Hammerin' Hank" compilation, its brilliant aesthetics are highlighted by sparkling hues, a crystal clear Aaron batting pose and, once again, virtually perfect centering. Starting with the inaugural 1954 Topps rookie card and ending with this magnificent final issue, our esteemed consignor meticulously "cherry picked" specimens with the finest possible centering, closing out his pinnacle collection with this extraordinary 1976 keepsake!
