(LOT 42)
1968 Topps #110 Hank Aaron (PSA Mint 9) - Only 4 Graded Higher!

On July 14, 1968, Henry Aaron became the 8th player to reach the 500-homer milestone when he belted a 3-run dinger off of Giants right-hander Mike McCormick in the 3rd inning. Only a year earlier to the day (July 14, 1967), long-time teammate Eddie Mathews had blasted his 500th home run, exactly two months after the legendary Mickey Mantle hit his 500th round tripper on May 14th. Ironically, Topps chose to once again utilize a popular Aaron batting image for his 1968 #110 subject, with this breathtaking PSA Mint 9 gem only bested by a meager 4 PSA 10 examples!

Arguably, the greatest right-handed hitter ever, Aaron's lifetime achievements are outstanding and, likewise, his representation on this cardboard masterpiece is simply astonishing! Most would agree that a majority of the technical attributes provide the necessary aesthetic qualities to earn the sanctified "10" technical assessment, with its overall radiance placing it as one of the finest looking 1968 Topps Aaron cards on the planet. First and foremost, a flawless Aaron batting stance image graces the obverse side, with the virtually perfect centering and blistering sharp corner tips stealing the show. Atypical for the 1968 Topps issue, perfectly centered cards simply aren't found on "any" day of the week! Sharp perimeter edging as well as a pristine reverse complete one of the most immaculate Aaron cards we have ever encountered, and one that anxiously awaits a new home in another premier PSA Registered set!
