As there is absolutely nothing I could write about "The Great One" that hasn't already been written, I think the above quotes say more about the man then anything I could ever come up with.

That said, let's get down to the item for auction.

I'm guessing the Clemente played about 10-12 seasons of winter league as he certainly missed some seasons due to his commitment to the United States Marines as well as a few off season surgeries/injuries and general slowing down with age.

Signed Professional Contracts in our opinion are clearly the rarest baseball related signatures that you could ever hope to acquire by far. It's not like these preconceived autographed "chase" cards that the card companies have been releasing for the last fifteen years. They have promoted them as a "limited edition" numbered to just "one of ten or twenty". They are typically just unattractive cuts that have been affixed to a standard 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 card dressed up in their Sunday best by using dye-cut and gold foil lettering in order to help sell more of their product that nobody wants nor cares about.

Clemente is almost always the choice of one or more Card Companies for their yearly releases due to his undying popularity that transcends as few ballplayers ever have.

So 15 years later we have hundreds and hundreds of these prefabricated "collectibles" that get shuffled around eBay on a daily basis.

So, if you are in the market for a truly scarce Clemente autograph, that there are only a mere handful in existence, you may be in for a very long wait if you don't pull the trigger on this incredible contract.
