1973 Hammerin' Hank!
Graded Perfect 10!

(LOT 14)
1973 Hank Aaron Atlanta Braves Signed Road Jersey MEARS A10
Up for auction is a Braves Road Jersey worn by Baseball Hall of Famer and Home Run Slugger Hank Aaron. This blue road pullover is made of knit from the Sand Knit Company, properly tagged size 42" with a 21" chest and a 28" torso. Issued in 1973, the team lettering on this jersey is BRAVES done in double tackle twill. This Hammerin' Hank jersey exhibits #44 which is placed on the front and back of the jersey in double tackle twill and measure 3 5/8" on the front, 7 1/8" on the back with feathers on the right and left sleeves. The left sleeve is also autographed in black and in addition to the multiple letters of jersey authentication, comes a Letter of Authenticity for the autograph as well. This jersey also exhibits good game use and has no alterations or replacements of anything.

This jersey comes in its original state and is consistent with the player and the position in which Hammerin Hank Aaron played. Jersey also exhibits some shrinkage, not unusual with cheesecloth knit material used by Sand Knit for 1972-1973 Braves jerseys. Based on our research regarding the Sand Knit Company, they manufactured jerseys for the Braves between 1972 and 1973 before switching over to Wilson in 1974. Sand Knit Company would put buttons on the neck area on jerseys in 1972 and then switched over to the clean looking v-neck shape . This jersey is all original and solid and is accompanied by an array of photo matches showing this jersey to be iron clad original, a one of a kind, game used and game worn jersey by this Home Run legend and Baseball Hall of Famer.
