George Reeves Signed The Adventures of Superman Original Shooting Script for Episode "Close Shave" 1957 PSA/DNA LOA
This vintage Adventures of Superman television script is signed by George Reeves, who portrayed Superman in Episode 8, "Close Shave," which aired on April 26, 1957. In this Season 5 episode, Jimmy encounters a barber with a unique ability to uncover people's true natures. Jimmy aims to use this talent to dismantle a criminal organization. The screenplay was written by Benjamin B. Crocker and directed by Harry Gerstad. The script, marked "Superman TV-S-91" on both the cover and title page, indicates that this was the 91st episode filmed in the series. It spans 41 pages and features original green covers with gold braids and white pages. The interior pages are very clean, with some pencil notes that may have come from the set dresser. This is a rare find, as it's the first Adventures of Superman script we've encountered in recent memory. George Reeves' tragic death at age 45 remains a topic of controversy; it was officially ruled a suicide, though some speculate he was murdered or accidentally shot. Long live Superman!
