(LOT 1861)
Babe Didrikson Signed Cut PSA/DNA Authentic

Didrikson, affectionately nicknamed "Babe" after Babe Ruth, earned her name when spectators witnessed her hitting five home runs in a childhood baseball game. Although her Norwegian mother had called her "Bebe" since toddlerhood, the nickname stuck. Tragically, she passed away at just 45, but her remarkable achievements throughout her life are truly incomprehensible. Babe excelled in golf, basketball, baseball, and track and field, winning two gold medals and a silver at the 1932 Summer Olympics before transitioning to professional golf, where she claimed 10 LPGA major championships — all in a remarkably short time. Additionally, she made her mark in baseball, pitching in three major league spring training games. On March 20, she played for the Philadelphia Athletics, allowing no hits and getting out of an inning with a triple play. She pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals on March 22 and showcased her skills under the guidance of legends like Burleigh Grimes and Dizzy Dean. On March 25, she played for the Cleveland Indians, pitching two scoreless innings and hitting two line drives. Didrikson also joined the House of David barnstorming team and holds the world record for the farthest baseball throw by a woman. A true "Babe of all trades," she paved the way for future generations of female athletes. Owning her autograph is not just a collector's item; it's a tribute to her incredible legacy and impact on sports.
