This group features five NBA legends who made significant contributions to the sport. Bruce Drake: A star at Oklahoma, he was a 1928–29 Helms Foundation All-American and a key proponent of goaltending reform, chairing the NCAA Rules Committee for five years. Joe Fulks: The NBA's first scoring champion, Fulks was known as the first high-scoring forward and was posthumously inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1978. Branch McCracken, the head coach at Ball State University and Indiana University, led the Hoosiers to NCAA Championships in 1940 and 1953 and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1960. Maurice Podoloff, a lawyer and administrator, served as president of the Basketball Association of America and the NBA, effectively becoming the league's first commissioner. Guy Rodgers was an outstanding playmaker during his twelve years in the NBA (1958–1970), leading the league in assists twice and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014.
