This remarkable collection features three Western Union telegrams from Branch Rickey, Al Lang, and M.M. Deaderick, along with accompanying communication transmittals. Notably, Branch Rickey signs a proposal for exhibition games between the St. Louis Cardinals and their farm team, the Rochester International League Champions, addressed to M.M. Deaderick, Secretary of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce. In a letter dated December 11, 1929, Rickey notes that the Yankees and Braves have completed their spring training by March 25, 1929, and expresses his desire to schedule as many games as possible for the Cardinals against the Rochester team.
