MANTLE WALKS!!! Facing the Boston Red Sox right-hander Ike Delock, Mickey Mantle walked three times, and collected one hit and one run in the Yankees 5-2 victory. This wonderful image captures Mickey ready to head back to the dugout only to see that catcher Pete Daley dropped his foul-tipped third strike. Ultimately, The Mick walked in this plate appearance. Encapsulated Authentic by PSA, this fabulous 7" x 9" original Type 1 United Press International news service photograph is still in exceptional condition with great borders with only a small crease at the upper right corner. The original caption "Mantle Walks" remains intact on the reverse, along with the standard UPI stamping in black at center. This is a fantastic photograph of the two-time American League MVP in his office, collecting one of his 1,733 career walks.
