(LOT 347)
1915 Cracker Jack #7 Eddie Collins PSA 8 NM-MT

STEADY EDDIE!!! With all due respect to his contemporaries Rogers Hornsby and Napoleon Lajoie, Eddie Collins is widely considered by many historians as the greatest 2nd baseman of all time. Collins' statistical achievements have surpassed many other notable Hall of Famers, including a superior .333 lifetime batting average while accumulating 3,315 base-knocks, still 12th all-time. However, Cocky Collins was a complete player, widely regarded as the best fielding 2nd baseman of his era posting a lifetime .970 fielding percentage. He was a sensational baserunner, swiping 741 bases during a spectacular 25-year career. He stole 14 bases in eight World Series, six of which he won. This 1915 Cracker Jack gem has been bested by only three examples. His powerful and intense portrait image is extremely well-centered between four snow-white borders terminating at four razor-sharp edges and pinpoint corners. With an image that reveals the finest possible contrast and resolution, the immaculate surfaces complete this timeless cardboard wonder that suffices as another outstanding exemplar from the iconic vintage Cracker Jack series. This issue could warrant a second look, as it is hard to find any flaws here.
