1906-07 Pickering's Furniture Honus Wagner BGS 1.5 FR
ULTRA-RARE WAGNER!!! By 1906-07, Honus Wagner was without a doubt the best player in the National League, having led his Pittsburgh Pirates team to the NL flag in 1903 and the inaugural World Series only to fall to the Boston Americans in eight games. He led the NL in hitting five times, including 1906 and '07, and had a career mark of .345 at the plate to-date over 11 seasons. In 1909, he took the Buccos to the promised land with a World Series victory over the Detroit Tigers and he finished his career as an eight-time batting champion and the best National League player to-date.
So, who better to represent your product as Pickering's Furniture did here with this 1906-07 advertising card holdered 1.5 FR from Beckett. Produced on thick card stock, this uncatalogued issue measures 7" x 9". With expected moderate overall creasing, most notably at the upper and lower right corners, and corner wear that includes minor paper loss, this rare Wagner piece deserves attention. Soiling is visible throughout, but the scarcity of this issue should surpass any defects for the Honus Wagner enthusiast.
