1838 President James Buchanan Hand-Written Twice-Signed Letter with D.C. Postmark PSA/DNA LOA
An autograph letter signed by James Buchanan as a House Representative, measuring 8" x 10", Lancaster, Pennsylvania, dated May 29th, 1838. Signed "James Buchanan" and franking on the address page as "Free James Buchanan." Addressed to Samuel Dale with flattened mail folds. There is uneven toning and soiling, as well as staining and separations at the fold edges, and worn where the wax seals were opened. Boldly signed and franked by Buchanan. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
