Circa 1927-28 Babe Ruth Single-Signed Reach Baseball PSA/DNA LOA
Babe Ruth's generosity had no bounds, and it is virtually impossible to estimate how many autographs he provided to fans, young and old, over the course of his career and beyond. It seems a new autograph or signature appears for each and every auction across the hobby, and signed baseballs, in all conditions, are the most notable relics on which the Bambino has signed. There are likely thousands of baseballs signed by the Sultan of Swat, and they frequently lead auction lots as they remain arguably the most sought-after memorabilia in the hobby. There are certainly the ultra-rare items that garner the first page in auction catalogs, but those items are often out of reach, financially, for the average bidder, whereas Babe Ruth balls are "gettable." Offered is one of those such baseballs signed by the greatest player of all time. This circa 1927-28 Reach ball displays even toning with the standard red and blue stitch pattern as well as the Reach stampings that include E.J. Bernard on the south panel. Babe Ruth has panned his signature in the sweet spot at a "4-5" strength, displaying clearly and only showing light wear to garner the lesser assessment. This "Official American League Ball" remains in superb condition with only a couple touches expected from a nearly century-old sphere. PSA/DNA LOA included.
