RIP SAY HEY KID!!!... When 1970 rolled around for Willie Mays, he was in the waning days of his career. However, what a career it was. In 2,563 games the Say Hey Kid had 2,926 hits - 363 more hits, than games; hit an even 600 home runs (with sixty more to come); drove in 1,712 runs; and stole 305 bases, not to mention winning the NL Rookie of the Year, two NL MVPs, 12 Gold Gloves and a record tying 24 All-Star appearances. Willie Mays was regarded by so many as the greatest all-around player that ever lived.

A rare five-tool player, Mays also posted a .981 fielding percentage in center.
