1903 Eddie Plank Original Carl Horner Cabinet Photograph Boasting the T206 Plank Image – Measures Approximately 4" x 6"

T206 PLANK IMAGE!!!... The iconic T206 Eddie Plank subject needs no introduction, for it is this classic Carl Horner image that resoundingly stands as one of the card hobby's cornerstone illustrations. That said, this absolutely amazing 1903 Eddie Plank Carl Horner cabinet photograph proudly boasts the exact same T206 Plank pose, issued six years earlier than its majestic tobacco brethren. Including a mount measuring approximately 4" x 6", for full disclosure, this museum-worthy marvel was not originally issued in its current state. It was part of a momentous 1903 Philadelphia Athletics team composite measuring 24" x 24" that was subjected to serious damage along the border areas.

To salvage some of the undamaged portrait poses, several of the images were carefully cut from the original composite, with this sensational Plank offering being one of those well-preserved artifacts (notable flaws include a modest surface abrasion near the oval frame's upper right region, some scattered faint speckles, and general surface wear). In its current state, it truly stands as a unique Plank card, and a museum-worthy masterpiece portraying one of the hobby's most celebrated images. The 1903 Carl Horner composites are among the most captivating creations of this legendary photographer who was able to photograph virtually every MLB player during the turn of the 20th century. So, while not a "true" issued card, this immortal Plank image was still a major component of one of the most elusive and enthralling Carl Horner masterpieces, with Plank's revered name boldly affixed beneath his hallowed T206 pose!
