Tony Lazzeri 1927 Reception Program Signed by Babe Ruth, Tony Lazzeri, Herb Pennock & Bob Meusel with Invitation PSA/DNA LOA
BABE RUTH SIGNED 1927 PROGRAM!!!... The 1927 New York Yankees are arguably considered baseball's greatest all-time team, with their 110-44 record and World Series four-game sweep of the bewildered Pittsburgh Pirates etching a hallowed place in our National Pastime's glorious history. Of course, it was the immortal Murderers' Row placing this team at a pinnacle level, led by Ruth, Gehrig, Lazzeri, Meusel, and Combs. On Tuesday, June 21st of that fabled campaign, the Yankees would play the Boston Red Sox in an early doubleheader at Fenway Park, with the team scheduled to attend a 6:30 reception dinner for Tony Lazzeri at Boston's Elks Hotel after their two games. The mighty Yankees would best their Beantown rivals in both games by 7-3 and 7-1 scores, with Herb Pennock and Waite Hoyt going the distance in both games. Gehrig would blast a home run in game two, while Ruth and Lazzeri posted three and four hits, respectively, in the combined twin-bill. As an incredible memento from that historical day, presented here is a matted and framed signed dinner program and invitation for Tony Lazzeri's dinner.

Remarkably, the program's reverse side includes bold black fountain pen signatures of Babe Ruth, Herb Pennock, Bob Meusel and Tony Lazzeri, with the Lazzeri script situated above his imposing classic portrait image. The autographs reveal solid "8+" strength, and the cover reads as follows: "RECEPTION and DINNER TENDERED TO – A. "Tony" LAZZERI – SECOND BASEMAN – NEW YORK YANKEES – BY HIS BOSTON FRIENDS – Tuesday Evening, June 21, 1927 – ELKS HOTEL, Boston." The opened program measures approximately 10-1/4" x 6-3/4" and is professionally matted and framed to 16-1/2" x 17-1/2" dimensions, with the significant dinner invitation included directly above this extremely rare program. Other than some general surface wear, no obtrusive flaws are evident on either the program or invitation, and a critical PSA/DNA LOA is included, authenticating all four legendary signatures. An absolutely amazing keepsake from what many consider to be the Yankees most iconic season, it effectively turns back the clock to an era when this esteemed ballclub's incomparable Murderers' Row and world-class pitching staff wreaked havoc on their overmatched opposition!
