(LOT 1854)
1963 Revell Los Angeles Dodgers "Electra II" Model - "Mint in Box"

DODGERS TAKE FLIGHT!!! In the late 1950s and early '60s, MLB teams switched from trains to planes when traveling from city to city, especially after the league continued to expand westward. The Los Angeles Dodgers were the first team to actually own an aircraft. Offered is a pint-sized model of the Dodgers 1963 Electra II from Revell. It remains in the highest imaginable unassembled condition, a remarkable survivor with few examples known. Still in the box: "Why would anyone buy the toy and never open the box?" While many of the individual pieces have been separated from the sprues over the last 61 years and the decals appear to display minor storage wear, the box is fully intact, showing expected aging and fading, but nothing to indicate that this was ever opened for assembly purposes. A sensational model airplane relic of a transformative period in Major League Baseball!
