Jackie Robinson Signed Government Postcard - Postmarked 6/6/51 Auto PSA/DNA Authentic

Jackie Robinson boldly signed this government postcard in a blue felt tip pen on 6/6/51. During the 1951 season, Robinson led the NL in double plays made by a second baseman for the second year in a row, with 137. He also kept the Dodgers in contention for the 1951 pennant. During the last game of the regular season, in the 13th inning, he had a hit to tie the game and then hit a home run in the 14th inning, which proved to be the winning margin. This forced a best-of-three playoff series against their crosstown rival, the New York Giants. What makes this signed GPC very valuable is that despite Robinson's regular-season heroics, on October 3, 1951, the Dodgers lost the pennant on Bobby Thomson's famous home run, known as the "Shot Heard 'Round the World". 1951 was one of the most memorable times in baseball history. A strong bold signature that belongs in any advanced Brooklyn Dodgers collection.
