(LOT 1671)
1956-60 Bill and Bob Milwaukee Braves Postcards Near-Set (17 of 20)

SUPER RARE REGIONAL!!! During the late 1950s, the Milwaukee Braves, led by Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews and Warren Spahn, were the team to beat as they captured the 1957 World Series and won the NL pennant in 1957 and '58. Offered is the extremely rare Wisconsin regional postcard issue rarely seen as a complete set. With 17 of the 20 postcards present with no significant condition issues, this near-set remains primarily in EX or better condition.

The offered near-set is missing only Hank Aaron, Bill Bruton Throwing and Wes Covington Kneeling with Seven Bats. One of the real rarities for a regional issue that, with the additional missing three, would likely create the finest in the hobby. Four postcards have been signed on the reverse, including Bob Keely, Chuck Dressen, Joe Adcock (3) and Bill Bruton, and Del Crandall has signed his Kneeling One Bat variation in blue ballpoint across his image.
