c.1950s Jackie Robinson Brooklyn Dodgers Signed Type 1 Encapsulated Photo PSA/DNA Authentic - Measures Approx. 8" x 10"

ROBINSON INSCRIBED!!! The 1950s was a successful decade for the Brooklyn Dodgers, to be sure, as they fielded three National League MVP winners in Jackie Robinson (1949), Roy Campanella (1951, '53 & '55) and Don Newcombe (1956). Ironically, it started with Jackie Robinson, who broke the color barrier in 1947, allowing African Americans to enter Major League Baseball, and all three MVPs were African American. Jackie's entry into the very white MLB world changed the game of baseball forever. But he had the skills, as he won the 1947 NL Rookie of the Year award, the '49 NL MVP and was a seven-time All-Star who led the Brooklyn Dodgers to six World Series winning the 1955 battle against the New York Yankees. Offered here is a wonderful autographed photo of Jackie taking a knee with his bat beside him. Signed and inscribed "To Reina and Abe best wishes – Jackie Robinson" in blue ballpoint ("6-7" strength) across his right shoulder. This 8" x 10" photograph from the 1950s is a clean, clear image at center with some moderate edge and corner wear from display and storage. Border discoloration, small tears and rough edges are evident. Nothing can take away from this classic posed image of Jackie.
