1950 Jackie Robinson Signs 1950 Contract with Branch Rickey PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Culver Pictures Photo - Measures Approx. 10" x 8"

ROBINSON & RICKEY!!! Any photo including the immortal Jackie Robinson and Branch Rickey is Cooperstown worthy, with this PSA Type 1 1950 marvel portraying Jackie signing his 1950 Brooklyn contract for the amount of $35,000. Dated "Jan 25, 1950" on the verso, the official signing date was January 24, 1950, just three years after Robinson signed what is arguably the most significant contract in MLB history. Indeed, American icon Jackie Robinson will forever reside as one of our nation's most revered heroes when in 1947 he achieved the seemingly impossible feat of becoming baseball's inaugural modern-day African-American baseball player.

Ignited by Brooklyn's innovative GM Branch Rickey's persistence, Robinson officially broke the MLB color barrier when he took the field on opening day, April 15th at Ebbets Field before 26,000+ spectators (of which over 14,000 were African-Americans). Emanating the finest possible contrast and clarity, its overall aesthetics are nothing short of breathtaking, as these two baseball gods consummate another historic contract. Border wrinkles, faint wrinkles, an upper right corner diminutive chip, and spotted discoloration do not compromise the historic central pose whatsoever, with the verso revealing the critical Culver Pictures credit stamp and newspaper caption detailing this momentous event. A magnificent heirloom from Jackie Robinson's playing days, it conjures up memories of how this courageous athlete and his HOF general manager forever changed the face of our National Pastime via their unparalleled determination and courage!
