1921 World Series Babe Ruth PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Underwood & Underwood Photo – Measures Approx. 7" x 6"

BABE'S 1921 FALL CLASSIC!!! The 1921 campaign would see the mighty Sultan of Swat best his prior season's 54 homer record by five additional dingers, with Ruth's 59 round-trippers, 168 RBIs, 177 runs scored and unfathomable 1.353 OPS leading the Yankees to the World Series. Unfortunately, John McGraw's Giants would beat the Yankees in this best of nine contest in eight games, with Babe Ruth's at-bats somewhat limited due to an infected arm and bum knee. This candid PSA Type 1 photo portrays the Babe signing a baseball before Game Five at the Polo Grounds for popular author and humorist Irvin Cobb. This renowned writer who worked for Joseph Pulitzer's New York World was at one time the highest-paid staff reporter in America, yet in this image, he is just another captivated fan of the immortal George Herman Ruth. Although his injured arm was still bandaged, Ruth still managed to play in Game Five, and after beating out a bunt hit in the fourth inning of a 1-1 game, he went on to score the eventual winning run. The classic 7" x 6" image is breathtaking, eluding any notable flaws with the Underwood & Underwood credit stamp and critical caption both affixed to the verso, the final compliments for this 103-year-old Ruth marvel.
