1911 T3 Turkey Red Cabinets #27 Christy Mathewson Checklist Back PSA 2 GOOD

MATTY T3 TREASURE!!! The lord of all Deadball Era pitchers, Christy Mathewson's exalted T3 Cabinet is presented here in a fine PSA 2 holder. The immortal Cooperstown inductee is one of the greatest pitchers who ever toed a rubber, substantiated by his 373 lifetime wins (tying him with Grover Alexander for the most NL victories) and microscopic 2.13 ERA. Yet, it was Christy's three complete game shutouts in the 1905 World Series that might be his finest achievement, prompting Connie Mack to so eloquently state: "Mathewson is the greatest pitcher I ever saw. It was a pleasure to watch him pitch when he wasn't pitching against you!" The most captivating aspect of Matty's T3 is the classic Carl Horner hands-at-chest pitching pose, likewise affixed to his legendary T206 subjects and E93 Standard Caramel. A somewhat light contrast does not take away any luster from the crystal-clear image, with this offering downgraded due to corner wear, a faint horizontal surface scratch beneath Matty's left cleat, and various areas of soling, including a more notable diagonal blemish situated in the upper right border. This affordable Big Six cabinet won't break the bank, with the rising prices of all Mathewson T3 subjects substantiating its world-class stature!
