1911 T3 Turkey Red Cabinets #9 Ty Cobb Checklist Back PSA 2 GOOD
TURKEY RED COBB!!! One of the Georgia Peach's most iconic issues is his 1911 T3 Turkey Red Cabinet masterpiece that boasts an outstanding batting pose of the immortal 1936 HOF charter member. Offered here in an eye-pleasing PSA 2 holder, the critical central image has eluded any glaring flaws, still retaining a majority of its original luster via a sparkling array of green, orange, red, and gray hues. Indeed, the Tyrus image literally jumps off the card as he prepares to stroke another one of his 4,189 hits. Emanating fine VG aesthetics, its technical assessment is due to some faint surface wear to the left and right of Cobb's momentous illustration, a surface abrasion along the right border, consistent toning along all four borders, and corner wear, including some modest layering at the lower two corners. A relatively clean checklist verso is the final thumbs-up for this quintessential Cobb cabinet issued during the season in which the majestic Tyrus would post an incomparable league-leading .419 batting average, as well as pacing the Junior Circuit in almost every significant offensive category. In closing, while rising T3 prices are evident for all Hall of Famers, the mighty Cobb certainly paves the way with a similar SGC 2 example fetching nearly $15K some six months ago!
