1910 E286 Honus Wagner Ju-Ju Drums SGC 1.5 FR - One of Only 3 SGC Examples!
RARE HONUS JU-JU!!! This extremely rare SGC 1.5 FR E286 Ju-Ju Drum Honus Wagner currently resides as one of only five encapsulated copies on the combined SGC (3) and PSA (2) Pop Charts! One of the scarcest baseball cards ever distributed is the circular 1910 Ju-Ju Drum disks issued with packs of Ju-Ju Drum candy. Measuring approximately 1-7/16" in diameter, a black and white player photo adorns the front side of these silver dollar-sized rarities, with the reverse side providing advertisement for the Ju-Ju Drums brand. The extreme obscurity of these museum-worthy gems leads hobbyists to believe that the current 45-player checklist still remains incomplete. The aesthetics of this Wagner offering far surpass its technical assessment, with the classic Wagner batting pose, relatively clean surface, fine circumference edging, and bold "WAGNER PITTSBURGH" text all consistent with any mid-grade specimen. Accounting for the assessment is some surface soling (possible glue remnants) on the verso, with the excessively low population and outstanding obverse side aesthetics stealing the show. Issued the year after Honus would claim his only world championship, we highly expect a serious bidding war for what truly represents one of Wagner's scarcest cardboard heirlooms!
