1954 Bowman #66 Ted Williams - PSA/DNA Authentic Autograph
THE KID'S SIGNED '54 BOWMAN!!! Presented here is an extremely rare autographed 1954 Bowman #66 Ted Williams subject, with the black ball-point pen "7-8" script perfectly situated across the Splendid Splinter's classic Boston flannels. One of only seven signed examples on the illustrious PSA Pop Chart, it resides as one of The Kid's most elusive signed cards. The ultra-desirable 1954 Bowman #66 Ted Williams subject was prematurely withdrawn from the set due to contractual issues. Replaced with Jim Piersall, the #66 Ted Williams is highly pursued by elite enthusiasts, along with Ted's Wilson Franks card, the most valuable 1950s Williams cardboard keepsake. While this scarce offering has certainly seen better days due to scattered areas of severe soiling and creasing, as well as heavy corner wear, the central image presentation including the somewhat vintage Teddy Ballgame signature still provides fine visual appeal. For full disclosure, the verso reveals heavy surface damage/paper loss, most likely pulled from a scrapbook whereby a previous owner wrote in blue ink: "Ted Williams – NO. 66."
