(LOT 110)
1980 Topps #580 Nolan Ryan PSA 10 GEM MINT

GEM MINT RYAN!!! It seems to make a lot of sense that Nolan Ryan hails from the great state of Texas, considering that he served as a hired gun and had the fastest draw in the game for nearly three decades. After a couple years in the minors, Ryan K-ed 307 batters for the Greenville and Williamsport Mets before getting a call-up from the big club. In New York, he was the fifth starter and reliever, behind Tom Seaver and others. But once he was traded to the California Angels in 1971, things began to look up. He threw two no-hitters in 1973, one in 1974 and another in 1975 with the Angels, but after eight seasons in Anaheim, in 1979 he signed with his virtual hometown team, the Houston Astros. Nine years and one more no-hitter in Houston, and Nolan Ryan signed his final contract with the Texas Rangers, where he pitched five more seasons and two more no-nos, the last of which came at the age of 44. Offered here is a 1980 Topps #589 Nolan Ryan PSA GEM MINT 10. This one's perfect in every aspect.
