(LOT 54)
1955 Topps #47 Hank Aaron PSA 9 MINT – Highest PSA Graded Example!

HAMMERIN' HANK PSA 9!!! In 1954, the Milwaukee Braves would call up their rookie outfielder phenom Henry Aaron, and he would certainly display flashes of brilliance, walloping 13 round-trippers, a glimpse of things to come. The 1955 season would see sophomore sensation Henry Aaron have his breakout campaign, with Hammerin' Hank belting 27 round-trippers, knocking in 107 runs and posting a stellar .314 batting average. The immortal Aaron was about to embark on an unparalleled career that would ultimately lead to him passing Babe Ruth's magical 714-homer mark when he belted an Al Downing fastball into the Atlanta bullpen on April 8, 1974. Topps celebrated Aaron's second season by including him on their #47 subject, with collectors actively seeking this esteemed cardboard keepsake.

This breathtaking 1955 Topps PSA 9 MINT Aaron second-year gem has not been bested by a single other example, with the absence of any PSA 10s leaving this offering as one of the finest existing examples on the planet! Furthermore, PSA has encapsulated nearly 6,600 second-year Topps Aaron subjects, with only a fractional 0.4% managing to achieve the pinnacle MINT 9 grade. After scrutinizing this immaculate offering, many enthusiasts would agree it just might stand as the finest of them all, yet the current best of the best grade will more than satisfy even the most meticulous collector. A blazer, to say the least, its razor-sharp perimeter includes four pinpoint corners, with Aaron's classic portrait and batting images exhibiting fantastic centering between four dazzling white borders, only revealing an extremely slight favoritism towards the lower left edges.

Radiant yellow hues grace the flawless background surface, and the verso is super clean. Henry Aaron is on every historian's list as one of the top ten baseball players in baseball history. Arguably the greatest right-handed hitter of all time, with all due respect to Hornsby and Foxx, Aaron's lifetime achievements are sensational, including his 755 lifetime homers and still-standing records of 2,297 runs batted in and 6,856 total bases. Likewise, his pristine representation on this quintessential heirloom more than substantiates the 9 assessment that proudly shares the spotlight as the finest of its kind, truly destined to be a PSA Registry centerpiece attraction!
