1912 T207 Brown Background Walter Johnson "Recruit Little Cigars" SGC 4 VG-EX
TOBACCO JOHNSON!!!... One of the more eclectic Walter Johnson cardboard issues is presented here, a superb SGC VG-EX T207 Brown Background marvel seldom presenting itself in mid-grade fashion. The card's aesthetics justify the scarce assessment with the Big Train's classic pitching pose revealing a crystal-clear Washington pinstriped uniform and cap, flanked by a super bold brown setting. Relatively clean surfaces are only compromised by a negligible crease near the lower left corner, with even corner wear actually emanating an eye pleasing uniformity. The final thumbs up is the versos popular RECRUIT LITTLE CIGARS advertisement, with this somewhat obscure tobacco keepsake issued during the season Johnson claimed 33 wins, and an AL leading 1.39 ERA and 303 whiffs via his blistering fastball that whizzed past an abundance of helpless batters!
