In the 1951 World Series, the New York Yankees faced crosstown Giants, pitting future Hall of Fame rookies against one another as Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays battled for the first title in each of their respective careers. Mantle went 0-3 with two walks and Mays 0-5. However, Mays' Giants would capture Game 1 in a 5-1 victory.
