1927 New York Yankees World Championship PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Underwood & Underwood Team Photo – Measures Approx. 6-1/2" x 8-1/2" – Includes PSA LOA

1927 YANKEES!!!... The legendary 1927 New York Yankees are arguably considered the greatest team in baseball history. Led by Babe Ruth's 60 home runs and Lou Gehrig's MVP season, Murderers' Row (Ruth, Gehrig, Lazzeri, Meusel and Combs) paved the way for the Yankees to win an amazing 110 games against only 44 loses, easily capturing the American League Pennant behind the wizardry of HOF manager Miller Huggins. As an almost anti-climax, the Yankees would eventually claim their second world championship by easily sweeping the Pittsburgh Pirates in an uncontested four games. As a fitting testament for that unparalleled season, presented here just happens to be a stellar 6-1/2" x 8" PSA Type 1 photo of the 1927 Yankees, taken by the renowned Underwood & Underwood News Service. Emanating superb aesthetics, this 96-year-old heirloom portrays clarity and a somewhat darker contrast, with the only noteworthy flaw being some modest chipping along the lower left. While several stary wrinkles, some extremely diminutive surface abrasions and a soiling spot situated on trainer Doc Woods shirt exist, the spine-tingling central image has eluded any obtrusive blemishes, revealing a relatively clean surface. All the iconic Yankees are present, with the entire list of players as follows:

TOP ROW (left to right): Gehrig/HOF, Meusel, Ruth/HOF, Moore, Pipgras, Combs/HOF, Miller, Hoyt/HOF, Lazzeri/HOF, Koenig, Shocker, Durst, Doc Woods (trainer)

MIDDLE ROW (left to right): Shawkey, Gerard, Grabowski, O'Leary, Huggins/HOF (manager), Fletcher, Pennock/HOF, Wera, Collins

BOTTOM ROW (left to right): Reuther, Dugan, Paschal. Bengough, Thomas, Gazella, Morehart, Bennett (mascot)

The flip side reveals the critical Underwood & Underwood News credit stamp and caption including a complete list of all 30 Yankees (including trainer Doc White and mascot Eddie Bennett), the final superlative for one of the most revered team photos extant. A truly historic image reflecting seven Cooperstown Inductees, it transcends the collector back to a definitive moment of time when Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and their remaining Yankee teammates turned the baseball world upside-down via their momentous 1927 performance!
