(LOT 141)
1974 Topps #105 Carlton Fisk Card PSA 10 GEM MINT - "POP 3"; Highest Graded Example!

PINNACLE "POP 3"!!!... One of baseball's greatest all-time catchers, Carlton Fisk's 1974 Topps #105 subject is offered here in the hallowed PSA 10 GEM MINT holder, one of only three examples standing at the top of the PSA Pop Chart! Typically plagued by skewed images, it's an excruciating task to find '74 Topps cards reflecting a near-perfect illustration such as this incredible keepsake, justifying why PSA has assigned a "10" assessment to only three of the 950+ encapsulated copies. Hall of Famer Carlton Fisk played his entire 24 career with the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox.

The 11-time All-Star finished his stellar career with 376 round-trippers, 1,330 runs batted in, a 1972 Rookie of the Year award, three silver sluggers, and both of his uniform numbers ("27" with Boston & "72" with Chicago) were retired for those respective teams. He will always be best remembered for his 1975 World Series game #6 walk-off homer in the bottom of the 12th at Fenway Park, with Fisk standing in the batting box and waving his hands towards the field of play in a momentous effort to keep the ball in fair territory. Pack-fresh to say the least via its impeccable surfaces, Fisk's captivating action pose emanates vibrant hues, with the well-centered image framed by dazzling white borders and blistering sharp edges. One of Carlton's finest existing cards, it proudly shares the spotlight with a meager two other specimens as the finest of its kind!
