1953 Topps #147 Warren Spahn PSA 9 MINT – "POP" 3; Highest Graded Example!

MINT SPAHN!!!... This near-impossible to find PSA 9 MINT 1953 Topps #147 Warren Spahn offering stands alongside a meager two other examples as the finest of its kind! Indeed, of the 1,300+ Spahn subjects that have been encapsulated by PSA, not a single specimen has managed to achieve the perfect "10" assessment, with only three examples achieving MINT stature. Synonymous with this card's pinnacle status is Warren Spahn's remarkable Hall of Fame career. The legendary southpaw still holds the all-time MLB record for wins by a left handed pitcher with 363, won 20 or more games 13 years, and was selected to baseball's All-Century- Team, one of only 25 such members. One of our National Pastime's greatest all-time pitchers, the technical attributes for this world-class marvel are likewise as formidable as any collector could possibly hope for, with this pack-fresh gem including a sparkling portrait pose of the immortal Spahn.

Most significantly, the revered image reveals near-perfect centering between four super clean borders, and in atypical fashion, no flaking is evident on the lower left black text box. Both surfaces are super clean, ending at a perimeter that includes four razor sharp corner tips. The crystal clear clarity enables Spahn's legendary pose to literally jump off the card and some eight years into his career, little did this southpaw realize that his future would result in a staggering 363 lifetime wins, 23 of which were posted in the season this magnificent card was issued. One of the most underrated pitchers in baseball history; Warren Spahn's statistics speak for themselves, with this extraordinary PSA 9 highest graded keepsake sufficing as the perfect testament for his Cooperstown worthy stature!
