(LOT 470)
"Unique for the Grade" 1953 Topps #129 Keith "Kite" Thomas PSA 10 GEM MINT – "POP 1"; The SOLE Highest Graded Example!

Outfielder and pinch hitter Keith "Kite" Thomas played three Major League seasons with the Philadelphia Athletics and Washington Senators, ending his MLB career after the 1953 campaign. That same year, the prestigious Topps Chewing Gum Co. issued Thomas as their #129 subject, with this incredible PSA 10 GEM MINT offering just happening to reside as the only PSA 10 of the 470 PSA encapsulated examples (at the time this was written)!

Any 1953 Topps card is near-impossible to find depicting the near-impossible "10" assessment. Substantiating that notion is a meager 59 total PSA 10s listed on the PSA population report for ALL 280 Topps subjects, a fractional 0.03% of the nearly 170,000 encapsulated copies. A sparkling array of sky and royal blue hues highlight the classic lithographic portrait pose, with the superb centered image residing between four dazzling white borders. Pack-fresh to say the least, its only imperfection appears to be a somewhat "rough" factory issued left edge cut, with its crisp surfaces, pinpoint corners and impeccable clarity additional superlatives supporting the one and only 10 grade!
