1996 Greater Milwaukee Golf Open Full Ticket – Tiger Woods Pro Debut – PSA 6 EX-MT – "POP 2"; Only 7 PSA Examples Graded Higher!

TIGER'S PRO DEBUT!!! Standing right alongside the iconic Jack Nicklaus as one of the two greatest all-time golfers, Tiger Woods' accolades are as extensive as a Santa Claus wish list, with his 15 Major wins placing second only to Nicklaus' remarkable 18 victories. The legendary Journey for Tiger Woods started some 27 years ago when in 1996, he teed off on August 29, 1996 in the first round of the PGA Tour's Greater Milwaukee Open. Played at Brown Deer Park Golf Course in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin suburb of Glendale, Woods had just won the U.S. Amateur Championship on August 25th for the third consecutive time, and decided it was time to turn pro at the tender age of 20.

That historic Thursday, August 29th first round of the Milwaukee Open, Woods posted a formidable 4-under-67 score, so his professional career was certainly off to a good start. Unfortunately for Tiger, his debut Open did not end in a propitious manner, with Woods finishing in a tie for 60th place and earning $2,544 for his efforts. While Loren Roberts took the first-place prize with a 265 score, Woods did provide the fans an immense thrill by posting his inaugural hole in one, and as we all know, Tiger would now be embarking on a professional golf career that would ultimately place him at the top of

the charts with the immortal Nicklaus. This PSA 6 EX-MT Milwaukee Open FULL Ticket was issued for that momentous tournament that jump-started Woods' unparalleled career. One of only two PSA encapsulated full tickets, it has been bested by a meager seven examples on the PSA Pop Chart! The vibrant blue and pink hues have not lost any of their original luster, with the ticket listing August 26th – September 1st for the event (August 26th – 28th were practice rounds). Listed sponsors include Oldsmobile and Midwest Express Airlines, with the beneficiary being St. Luke's Medical Center. Clean surfaces and a completely intact perimeter include the typical perforations along the upper and lower edges, and the verso details the standard liability clauses for all attendees. A most significant Woods debut ticket, after the tournament, Tiger would sum up his debut with the following quote: "Over all, I think the week was a lot of fun. With all that happened, turning pro, all the other things, I felt I was able to play pretty good, I just couldn't make any putts."
