(LOT 124)
1934 Goudey #41 George Earnshaw PSA 9 MINT - "POP 2"; Highest Graded PSA Example!

The 1934 Goudey Gum 96-subject set resides as one of the hobby's classic pre-WWII 11 compilations. While an abundance of Hall of Famers including two Lou Gehrig cards spearhead this ultra-popular gathering, one of its desirable and prominent commons is the #41 subject representing Philadelphia Athletics formidable right-handed twirler, George Earnshaw. Presented here just happens to be his miraculous PSA 9 MINT '34 Goudey marvel that is joined by only a single other example as the finest of its kind! Indeed, PSA has encapsulated over 220 Earnshaw specimens with NONE capable of achieving the pinnacle 10 assessment.

Earnshaw's three consecutive seasons of 20+ victories from 1929-1931 ably assisted Connie Mack's Athletics in winning three consecutive pennants and two World Championships (1929; '30). Synonymous with these World Series titles is the championship caliber of this time-defying gem that has withstood 89 years of potential wear to still emanate its original factory issued attributes. The image reveals Earnshaw having just tossed one of his tantalizing pitches, with crystal-clear clarity, a sparkling baby-blue setting, an immaculate "Lou Gehrig Says..." caption, fine centering, dazzling white borders and pinpoint corners the highlights of this miraculous keepsake. The final exclamation points are pristine surfaces, with this best of the best momentous George Earnshaw prize destined to immediately enhance one of the finest PSA Registered 1934 Goudey sets!
